“Kindly Light” is coming to the end of her 18 year restoration at Gweek by the Master Boat Builder, David Walkey of Porthleven. It is hoped she will be launched back into her natural element at the very end of September 2011 in time for her 100th birthday which is in early November.
The restoration is unusual in that she has been restored back to her original sailing pilot cutter configuration rather than as a yacht, so she has no modern systems, engine or electrics and the restoration has been the subject of very extensive and prolonged research by the owner restoring her original hull and deck layout, mast and spar dimensions and accommodation.
